Char`s Hamburgers in Lexington

Very disappointed in the food lately. Burgers have been dry and burnt. Seems like new staff doesn't care about what they put out. Only thing worth getting is the ice cream.

Best Hot Dogs I've tasted in NC. Their French Fries are fried to perfection and coated with some type of seasoning that is totally awesome. I keep going back for more.

I wish I liked the hamburger, because so many people rave about them. The French fries alone are a winner. Not blown away with the sticky feeling floors, outdated (but not yet retro) furnishings, and sketch restrooms. All the employees are very nice though and the food was promptly fixed. Kitchen looks to be very clean.

Best hot dog... Best ham sandwich, and definitely is a bit of nostalgia for me.

Yummy burger and crunchy fries!

Love the place I love the footlong hotdog. Me and my wife always get the footlong special if we go footlong, ff, and drink. Not sure if it's a special but to us it is and it's great. Everytime we go to Lexington we usually stop at Chars. Everyone has always been very nice and the price to me seems good.

One of the oldest and best places to eat at in Lexington.

I got the double cheeseburger special. The fries were good and crisp. Tea was good too. When I ordered mustard, chili, and slaw on the burger the girl taking the order informed me that there was an additional charge for chili and slaw which I really appreciated.

Good service, even better food, and at a decent price. I was also surprised and impressed at how they kept the line moving and the food out so quickly on the day of the BBQ festival.

We enjoyed there bacon cheese burger and regular cheese burger and fries sundaes ice cream. My belated grandmother introduced us to this restaurant. It been over twenty years now. Always a treat when we stop in for a bite to eat.

Gave Char's a second chance and still no better. Burger and Bacon little bit on the extremely well dine side. Staff just rude, seemed to be irritated just for the fact they had customers. A wedding Party was there at the same time and staff complained the whole time. Just sad to feel so unwelcome at a hometown place.

Chars is just awesome! Fried need help, but the foot longs...wow! Have been great for 40 years, haven't changed, they still are!

I purchased some supposed vegetable beef soup and when I got home I had a cup of campbell's ABC with carrots. So, disgusted should not be allowed to sell under false pretenses.

I ordered a footlong hot dog meal only to get food poisoning. I'm iching in my hands and feet. Cramps in my abdomen and a cold sweat. After only taken 2 bites I had to spit up my second bite. I hope that they take a look at this and check their food. Im glad my son got something elts.

One of the best fast food burger places Ive been to. Char's is easily better than Five Guys. Great prices, real ingredients on the burgers. The fries are a little soft, but not in a bad way they just melt in your mouth and aren't overly salted. Milk shakes are on point the Banna actually tastes like banana and not some fake flavoring. 10/10

If I wanna true American grill dining experience I go to Chars and get a burger and or hot dog and fries. I love to finish my meal with fried apple pie and ice cream. I love this place and never hear an objection when I suggest we have a meal here

The food was great!! The customer service on the other hand not so much, they are rude and get attitude with alot of customer's. If they would fix that then it would definitely be 5 stars

The food is always good but tonight are french fries or crunchy and when you bit into him grease popped out grease was Squirt out every time you cute a bite of your fries was very disappointed in my French fries but my hot dog was great

This place has decent food and service. In Lexington there are only so many choices. But I give them 5 stars for the ice cream!!!

This place was okay... Took a while. Stood there for a while with my ice cream cone waiting for the other one and eventually got asked if I was waiting on anything...

Been a while since I've eaten Chars. But now that we are able to go out and eat again. I cant forget gow much I love their Super dogs.

we went through the drive through on march 18th around 6:30 and the girl talking through the speaker was extremely rude and impatient. while we were looking at the menu, she yelled through the speaker with an attitude asking “hOw CaN i HeLp YoU?”. you should maybe work on customer service skills in employees.

First time going i order a single cheeseburger had no idea that the meat was so thin but i found out.i won't order a single again.

Most wonderful thick milk shakes in North Carolina. Make sure you ask for a THICK shake. The kids love the dipped cones. My husband and I get the Char Burger Jr. combo with shakes. It is plenty of food for us. Big eaters will want the regular.

I lived in NC, within minutes of this place for over 20 years. Never went. Then moved away. Finally went a week or so ago while visiting. Dang! Great food. Great prices. Hate I missed out all those years... Don't make the same mistake I did. Go today.

Would be nice if workers would automatically put orders in bags at the drive-thru instead of having to be asked. We have been to the drive-thru multiple times specifically for the delicious desserts and they were handed to us thru the window in their containers with the spoons/napkin. I’m in a car about to drive off—put the stuff in a bag already!

Good burgers

Consistently good burgers fresh off the grill and a great flavor selection of cold treats- milkshakes, sunday's, flurry's, soft serve and some signature desserts too. Priced to compete with ordinary drive thru stuff, but tastes like honest to goodness food. (Maybe I do check my fries, just to be sure the salt wasn't forgotten)

Fantastic local favorite with old-fashioned grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and ice cream concoctions. A real treat and very inexpensive for what you get

CHAR'S They are such a great little fast-food place, I have been going there since I was a kid and they have stayed consistent with the how good there food, ice cream, beverages, but moreso than all of those I am addicted to the milkshakes! You honestly don't see and/or have the pleasure of going to many anymore, but CHAR'S will hopefully continue to stand the test of time?!
